Canada Day 2017

Every year, the City of Airdrie puts on a great show for Canada Day. This year, Canada’s 150 anniversary has excited the city to reveal the greatest Canada Day celebration Airdrie has ever seen! There are some great new additions to the traditional festivities as well as some incredible new activities that are fun for the entire family. From the classic Airdrie Canada Day Parade to the introduction of the beer garden, and ending with an enhanced fireworks show – we’re all in for a treat!

Airdrie’s Canada Day Parade

The City of Airdrie has a Canada Day Parade every year, this year’s parade promises to be one to remember! The Canada 150 Celebration is Canadian Heritage themed and will bring in 110 different floats from as far as Red Deer! Main Street will be shutting down at 9:00am for the parade’s start at 10:00am. The parade is scheduled to run from 10:00am until 1:00pm, so bring a chair and enjoy the celebration!

Kinsmen Club of Airdrie Breakfast

The Kinsmen Club of Airdrie is hosting a Stampede-style breakfast. All proceeds from the breakfast will be given back to the local community. This event begins at 8:00am at the Towerlane Centre. Grab some breakfast before settling in for the parade!

Chinook Winds Park Celebrations

This year, Chinook Winds Park is setting up 2 stages for entertainment, as well as some other features we haven’t seen before! One of the stages is dedicated to live band, Clockwork Crows who are from Calgary! The other stage will be for other entertainment purposes. The party starts at 3:00pm

For the first time in Airdrie Canada Day history, there will be a beer garden hosted in the baseball diamond, as well as with a bunch of food trucks to snack on.

Kids will LOVE this Canada Day with tons of activities such as:

• Street hockey
• Rock climbing
• Dunk tanks
• Petting zoo
• Monster truck rides
• And More (face painting, trampolines etc.)

Airdrie Public Library’s 14th Annual Canada Day BBQ

Airdrie’s Public Library continues their annual tradition with their 14th annual Canada Day BBQ. This year, there will be a raffle featuring a RE/MAX Champagne Hot Air Balloon Ride! Attend this year’s BBQ for your chance to win that awesome prize! The event begins at 11:00am and will wrap up around 1:30pm.

Stephen’s Backpack Society 10th Annual Canada Day BBQ

Stephen’s Backpack Society is hosting their 10th annual Canada Day BBQ at the Real Canadian Superstore from 11:00am-3:00pm. Attend this event for lots of entertainment as well as food while celebrating the local community.

Airdrie Canada Day Fireworks

Airdrie’s traditional Canada Day fireworks are amped up this year! Beginning at dusk, the fireworks will be exploding for a full 25 minutes – 10 minutes longer than previous years! They will be launching with live music, this will be the most fabulous fireworks show Airdrie Canada Day has ever seen!

The Airdrie Parades and Fireworks Committee always puts on a great Canada Day, and I personally can’t wait for this one! It’s going to be the best Canada Day yet. Come celebrate Canada’s 150 with your Airdrie neighbours! I hope to see lots of people out there and hope everyone has a fun and safe Canada Day For more. This year the fireworks will be held south of Chinook Winds in the open field, same place as last year!
